Anzac Day 2020

The first Dawn Memorial Service was held in Martin Place Sydney on Anzac Day in 1930.

The Sydney Male Choir was invited to sing at that service and has sung at every Anzac Day Dawn Service since.

This year marks the 90th anniversary of this wonderful tradition and it is a matter of great sadness that due to the global pandemic the Dawn Service will not be conducted in Martin Place.

But our disappointment pales into insignificance as we pause to reflect on the incredible sacrifices made by service men and women of Australia and New Zealand in all the conflicts in which our nations have been engaged.

We honour all those who paid the supreme sacrifice and all those who suffered from the ravages of war.

We in the Sydney Male Choir rededicate ourselves to upholding the values they sought to protect and to continuing to honour their memory through song.
